Katerina is currently teaching private dance classes in:

Flamenco dance and techniques: arms, hands, footwork/heelwork, body work, palmas, rhythms, and turns. Spanish classical and neo-classical dance. Specialized techniques, including castanets, long trained skirt - bata de cola; fan work - abanico, and shawl work - mantón.

All private lessons are 1 hour long.

Classes are taught in Katerina's home studio at 721 Mound Avenue in South Pasadena.

• $60 for a single, 1 hour class
• $180 - class card for four 1 hour lessons
• $280 - class card of eight 1 hour lessons

PLEASE NOTE: Four class cards expire six weeks from date of purchase. Eight class cards expire ten weeks from date of purchase. Extensions must be approved by the instructor. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS ON PRIVATE CLASS CARDS - No exceptions.

Semi-Privates (two people only):

Tuesday night class: $52 - 4 class cards only (no drop ins)

Technique Classes: Braceo (arms), footwork, palmas, body postures, turns, rhythms, castanets & counter beats for 4, 6 and 12 count songs, and Estilo Gitano - Gypsy flamenco dance style.

Choreographies:

TANGOS GITANO - a beautiful, lively song and dance featuring great movement and footwork. Our current choreography concludes on February 21, 2009.

SOLEARES & BULERIAS DE JEREZ - A soulful, elegant and powerful song and dance, the Soleares is the foundational rhythm and dance in flamenco. Bulerías is A WONDERFUL GYPSY FLAMENCO DANCE featuring great footwork, turns, style and choreography. Learn the structure, choreography and style of this magnificent piece. SOLEARES CHOREGRAPHY BEGINS IN JUNE 2009.

SEVILLANAS - Choreography starts on Tuesday February 24 & Saturday, February 28. LEARN all four verses of this beautiful partner dance. Please bring castanets to class. No need to bring a partner, we partner up in the class. CASTANET practice begins at the end of JANUARY 2009.

ADVANCED FLAMENCO - WINTER/SPRING 2009

New class forming; please contact Katerina for information or to enroll in this small, specialized class. Four students only! RATE: $20 per class; $72 for 4 classes.

Technique:Advanced technique featuring turns, remates, footwork, palmas and marcaje. Learn rehearsal and performing skills and approaches for different types of choreography. Learn the Soleares por bulerías and Jaleos in this fast paced advanced class.

SHOES: Hard heeled shoes or boots, preferably flamenco shoes, folklorico shoes or boots, or character shoes.
